A man was rescued after getting trapped inside a drainage system in Cebu City while collecting coins on Sunday, June 22.
According to a report from Brigada News FM Cebu, the man reportedly entered the drainage near a university along Magallanes Street to retrieve coins that had fallen into the system. He placed the coins he collected inside a plastic bottle.
However, when he reached P. Lopez Street, he was unable to exit as he failed to open the culvert cover. He became trapped inside the drainage and was later found weak by the responding rescue team.
Authorities immediately pulled him out and provided first aid. Although he did not sustain serious injuries, he was brought to the nearest hospital for further medical evaluation.
The man’s current condition remains stable.
