Cayetano confirms vehicle used by Bato to return to Senate

Senate President Alan Cayetano admitted that Sen. Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa used his vehicle on Monday to return to the Senate and resume his work.

The confirmation came after Sen. Pia Cayetano earlier denied during the plenary session allegations raised by Sen. Ping Lacson claiming that dela Rosa rode in her vehicle.

Lacson later clarified that the information only came from his source. He apologized to Pia Cayetano for wrongly identifying her as the senator who provided transportation to dela Rosa.

According to Lacson, he sees no issue regardless of whose vehicle dela Rosa used in returning to the Senate, even if it came from members of the majority bloc.

Alan Cayetano eventually confirmed that it was his vehicle that dela Rosa used to enter the Senate premises on Monday.

The issue sparked discussion inside the Senate after the allegation was mentioned during plenary proceedings. However, Lacson maintained that the matter should not be considered controversial since dela Rosa’s transportation arrangement did not violate any rules.

Meanwhile, Pia Cayetano accepted Lacson’s apology but reminded fellow senators to be careful when discussing information, especially during official proceedings.

The incident added to ongoing discussions inside the Senate involving dela Rosa and members of the chamber’s majority bloc. No further statements were immediately issued regarding the matter after Alan Cayetano’s admission.
