A passenger bus carrying about 30 people plunged into a deep ravine in Bilar, Bohol, on Sunday afternoon, but all passengers survived the accident, according to initial reports.
The incident happened at about 2 p.m. on July 26 along the Loay–Carmen Interior Road in Barangay Villa Aurora.
Authorities said the bus was believed to have experienced a steering problem, causing it to gradually veer toward the side of the road before falling into the ravine.
Emergency responders from the Bilar and Loboc Fire Stations immediately responded to the scene. They were joined by police officers, rescue teams and other emergency personnel in rescuing the passengers from the crashed vehicle.
Initial reports indicated that no fatalities were recorded and none of the passengers sustained serious injuries.
Rescuers worked to safely evacuate those on board following the accident. The passengers were brought to safety as emergency personnel secured the area.
Authorities have yet to release additional details regarding the condition of the bus or whether further investigation will determine the exact cause of the incident.
The crash occurred along the Loay–Carmen Interior Road, a route that passes through parts of central Bohol.
