The polymer series shifts focus to showcasing the nation’s natural treasures and biodiversity, a bold departure from traditional designs. According to the BSP, this modernization aims to highlight numismatic artistry and reinforce the Filipino identity through innovative, durable materials.
Despite the design overhaul, the BSP reassures the public that the historical significance of the heroes will not be diminished. The existing banknotes featuring national icons will coexist with the polymer series, symbolizing a balance between honoring heritage and embracing progress.
