Bohol extends aid to Cebu, deploys Medical Team and P5 Million assistance after earthquake

Bohol province extended support to neighboring Cebu following the devastating 6.9-magnitude earthquake that struck on September 30, 2025.

Governor Erico Aristotle Aumentado announced Wednesday that a 16-member medical team would depart for Cebu at 1:30 PM to assist ongoing relief and medical operations in the affected province.

In addition to manpower, Bohol is also providing P5 million in financial assistance to help address Cebu’s urgent needs after the disaster.

“We are standing in solidarity with Cebu in this time of great need,” Aumentado said, emphasizing the importance of unity among Visayan provinces during calamities.

Meanwhile, Bogo City, one of the hardest-hit areas in Northern Cebu, is coordinating volunteer efforts with local authorities. The Cebu Provincial Hospital in Bogo welcomes medical volunteers, while the Incident Command System at Bogo City Hall directs non-medical volunteers.

Officials clarified that volunteers may proceed at any time convenient to them, assuring that all forms of assistance are welcome and highly appreciated.

In response to Governor Gwen Garcia and Cebu Provincial Government’s call, Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama confirmed the city is deploying three ambulances with four emergency medical crews. The teams will help transport patients from Bogo to Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center in Cebu City for urgent treatment.

Authorities said medical volunteers will strengthen hospital staff in handling the influx of patients, while non-medical volunteers are needed for logistics, relief distribution, and crowd management.

Cebu continues to face massive challenges in the aftermath of the powerful quake, which has claimed dozens of lives, displaced thousands of families, and left widespread destruction across Northern Cebu towns.
