Body of Negrense OFW killed in Israel missile attack arrives home

The remains of Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) Leah Mosquera, who died following a missile attack in Israel, arrived at the Bacolod-Silay Airport, Bacolod City on Thursday morning, July 24.

Mosquera, 49, was a caregiver and a resident of San Enrique, Negros Occidental. She had been confined in a hospital for several weeks after sustaining serious injuries during the June 15 missile strike by Iran in Rehovot City, Israel. She passed away on July 13.

According to Brigada News FM Bacolod, her body was temporarily brought to a funeral home in San Enrique before being scheduled for transfer to their residence in Barangay Guintorilan on Friday, July 25.

Tears flowed as family members and friends welcomed her remains at the airport, grieving the loss of a loved one who had worked abroad to support them.

The provincial government of Negros Occidental, along with other government agencies, is expected to provide financial assistance to Mosquera’s family.

No further details were given regarding her employment status or insurance arrangements, but officials assured support to the bereaved.
