Board member candidate shot outside home in Davao del Norte

A candidate for the First District Board Member seat in Davao del Norte survived a shooting incident on the night of April 29 in Tagum City.

The victim, identified as 43-year-old Audrie Perez, was attacked outside his home in Delfina Village, Magugpo North. According to initial police reports, Perez was riding a motorcycle when an unidentified suspect suddenly opened fire.

Perez, who also serves as an executive assistant to Davao del Norte Rep. Pantaleon “Bebot” Alvarez, sustained gunshot wounds but remains in stable condition. He is currently being treated at Tagum Doctors Hospital.

Authorities recovered five spent bullet casings at the crime scene, believed to have come from a .45 caliber pistol.

The Tagum City Police are actively investigating the case to determine the motive behind the attack and to identify the gunman.

Police have not released additional details, and no suspects have been arrested as of this writing.
