Blessing of Black Nazarene replicas held this afternoon

The blessing of replicas of the Black Nazarene was held this afternoon.

The rite was led by priests at the Minor Basilica and National Shrine of Jesus Nazareno, also known as Quiapo Church.

The images were blessed as they passed under an overpass near the church.

Devotees from various provinces flocked to Quiapo to have their replicas blessed, six days ahead of the Traslacion on January 9.

Meanwhile, the Manila Police District (MPD) has earlier announced the scope of road closures and rerouting that will be implemented starting 9:00 p.m. on January 8 until January 9 in line with the Feast of the Black Nazarene.

The MPD advised the public to avoid affected areas and to allot more travel time due to the activity.
