Police arrested a barangay staff identified as one of the top 10 city-level drug personalities during a buy-bust operation in Brgy. Cabantian, Davao City. The suspect, known only by the alias Franz, 35, was apprehended past 9 p.m. on Tuesday, December 9. Officers from the Buhangin Police Station reported the arrest after Franz was allegedly caught selling illegal drugs while working a sideline operation.
Authorities said Franz fell to an undercover poseur buyer who allegedly purchased a pack of shabu from him. Police confiscated a total of Php 43,180 worth of suspected shabu during the operation. The arrest came after monitoring efforts that placed Franz among those tagged under city-level drug watch lists.
The suspect is now detained at the custodial facility while awaiting legal proceedings. He is set to face charges for violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. No additional information has been released regarding his employment status or other possible accomplices.
Investigators have yet to disclose further details on the duration of the operation or whether authorities are pursuing related targets. Police emphasized that the arrest stemmed from coordinated efforts focused on local drug activities.
