Malacañang has confirmed the appointment of Land Transportation Office (LTO) Chief Atty. Vigor Mendoza II as the new Chairman of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB).
Along with him, Special Envoy for Transnational Crime Markus Lacanilao was appointed as the new LTO Chief, while the current LTFRB Chairman Teofilo Guadiz III was reassigned as head of the Office of the Transportation Cooperative.
In a statement, Mendoza expressed gratitude to President Bongbong Marcos for the trust given to him when he was appointed as LTO chief in 2023.
He said he is leaving the post with his head held high, knowing that he did not fail the Palace in addressing transportation issues.
Mendoza also thanked the LTO employees for believing in his policies, including his promise to resolve contractualization within the agency.
He added that through the hard work and perseverance of its personnel, the public’s trust in the LTO has been restored.
Finally, Mendoza expressed hope that the achievements of the LTO over the past two years will be continued and strengthened under the new leadership.
