Arroyo denies alleged plot to oust Speaker Dy

Former President and Pampanga Rep. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo denied reports circulating about an alleged ouster plot against House Speaker Bojie Dy.

In a statement, Arroyo stressed that she continues to have confidence in the leadership of the House of Representatives under Dy. She also emphasized that their mutual support remains strong and unbroken, noting that their working relationship dates back several years, even from the time of Dy’s father.

Rumors about a supposed plan to remove Dy from his post surfaced recently, coinciding with the scheduled impeachment hearing against Vice President Sara Duterte.

According to circulating reports, Arroyo was allegedly being pushed to replace Dy as House Speaker in an effort to help the Vice President avoid impeachment proceedings.

Arroyo categorically denied these claims, dismissing the reports of an alleged leadership change in the House. She reiterated her continued support for Dy and maintained that the reported ouster plan has no basis.

The speculation emerged amid heightened political tensions surrounding the impeachment hearing against Duterte. However, Arroyo’s statement sought to address the issue directly and clarify her position regarding the House leadership.
