Around 1M DepEd personnel expected to receive mid-year bonus

The Department of Education has started the distribution of mid-year bonuses today.

According to Education Secretary Sonny Angara, the payout covers around 900,000 public school teachers and more than 100,000 non-teaching personnel nationwide.

The initiative aims to recognize the role of educators and school staff in sustaining learning recovery efforts and implementing reforms in the education sector.

Angara said that when teachers and personnel are motivated and well-supported, schools also become more prepared to ensure quality learning for every Filipino child.

Teaching and non-teaching personnel may qualify for the benefit, including those holding regular, casual, and contractual positions, provided that they have rendered at least four months of service from July 1 of last year until May 15 this year, remain in government service until the release date, and received at least a satisfactory performance rating.
