A robbery suspect from Albuera, Leyte, was arrested at Bankerohan Public Market on Tuesday morning after a heist along Illustre Street, Davao City.
According to a report from the Davao City Police Office, the suspect was identified as Jonny Bulawan, while two of his accomplices remain at large.
Authorities apprehended Bulawan after a foot chase when their getaway motorcycle suddenly malfunctioned, preventing their escape.
Seized from the suspect were an M16 rifle, a 9mm pistol, several rounds of ammunition, the broken-down motorcycle, and jewelry estimated to be worth between P40 million and P100 million.
Police confirmed that efforts are ongoing to track down the two remaining suspects, whose identities have already been established.
