Alas Pilipinas Women secured the Philippines’ first-ever silver medal in SEA V.Cup history after defeating Indonesia, 25-13, 23-25, 25-19, 33-31, in Leg 2 in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
Alyssa Solomon led the Philippines with 19 points, while Eya Laure and Bella Belen added 17 points each. Dell Palomata also contributed nine points in the hard-fought victory.
The Philippines dominated the opening set, 25-13, but Indonesia answered back in the second, 25-23. Alas Pilipinas regained control in the third set, 25-19, before a thrilling fourth-set battle saw both teams exchange points until the Philippines finally closed it out, 33-31.
The historic victory came after Alas Pilipinas also defeated powerhouse Vietnam—marking the team’s first win over Vietnam since 2019.
With the silver-medal finish, Alas Pilipinas Women achieved their highest-ever placement in SEA V.Cup history, marking another milestone for Philippine women’s volleyball.
