Dizon returns to DOTr as Lopez takes over DPWH

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has reassigned Cabinet officials Vince Dizon and Giovanni “Banoy” Lopez, with Dizon returning to the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and Lopez taking over the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

Presidential Communications Office Secretary Lino Cayetano confirmed the Cabinet changes at Malacañang on Monday morning.

Dizon was instructed to prioritize commuters by implementing improvements at the Land Transportation Office, including shortening queues and cracking down on fixers. He was also tasked with accelerating the construction of critical mass transportation projects nationwide.

Dizon was first appointed DOTr secretary in February 2025 before Marcos transferred him to the DPWH in September 2025.

Under the latest Cabinet reshuffle, Lopez will replace Dizon as public works secretary.

The Palace said Lopez, a lawyer and certified public accountant, is expected to continue and strengthen reforms aimed at addressing corruption within the DPWH. He will also work to accelerate the construction of other infrastructure projects across the country.

The reassignment places Dizon back in charge of transportation services, with a focus on improving commuter experiences and advancing mass transportation projects.

Meanwhile, Lopez will oversee public works initiatives, continue anti-corruption reforms and push for faster infrastructure development.

The Palace announcement did not provide further details on when the two officials would formally assume their new positions.
