Rovelyn Baterbonia, mother of the late Ateneo student-athlete Rene Baterbonia, has clarified that the P30 entrance fee being circulated online applies only to their mini museum—not to their physical store.
Rovelyn explained that the entrance fee helps cover the maintenance and upkeep of the museum, while residents of Talacogon from its 16 barangays are allowed to enter for free.
She also stressed that visitors may access the Baterbonia Collection store without paying any entrance fee.
Meanwhile, Rovelyn denied reports claiming that she received a P25,000 talent fee after being invited to speak at a school, dismissing the allegation as “fake news.”
The mini museum features various Rene Baterbonia memorabilia, including limited-edition perfumes signed by Rovelyn, P350 keychains, refrigerator magnets, pop sockets, and other collectible items.
Rovelyn urged the public to continue visiting and supporting the museum and Baterbonia Collection as they work to preserve Rene’s memory and legacy.
Meanwhile, Senator Robin Padilla said the planned biopic about Rene will push through, with BB Gandanghari set to direct the project alongside other filmmakers from Mindanao.
