Actress Bela Padilla has confirmed her separation from tech CEO Martin Tan after eight months of dating.
In an Instagram post on Sunday, Padilla said they decided to go their separate ways to protect themselves and preserve the good things they saw in each other.
Padilla said they had gone through both the happiest and most difficult stages of their relationship in recent months, despite sharing interests in film, food, and work.
The actress admitted that the decision was not easy, but said part of loving someone is knowing when to let go before the good things they shared are lost.
Despite their breakup, Padilla described Tan as one of the funniest, smartest, and most attractive people she has met.
She also thanked their supporters for following their relationship and respecting their decision.
