Bharatpur Hospital in Nepal has resumed its regular medical services after its morgue was overwhelmed by the influx of bodies recovered from the flash floods on August 26.
A total of 321 bodies have been recovered in Chitwan, where the hospital is located.
With the number ofS bodies increasing, health workers were forced to divert their attention from treating patients to processing and storing the remains.
To ease the overcrowding, authorities temporarily buried 199 unidentified bodies after collecting DNA samples and other identifying information that could help identify the victims later.
Additional forensic specialists were also deployed to speed up the examination and identification process.
The hospital has since returned to normal operations, but families continue to search for their missing relatives.
