Broadway and international theater icon Lea Salonga is set to make history as the first Filipina to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Salonga will be honored with the 2,855th star on September 4 along Hollywood Boulevard, in front of the Pantages Theatre.
The award recognizes her remarkable career in theater and entertainment, highlighted by her Tony Award-winning performance as Kim in the hit musical Miss Saigon.
She also became known worldwide as the singing voice of Mulan in Disney’s Mulan and Mulan II, as well as Princess Jasmine in Aladdin.
Adding to the milestone, Salonga will also receive the Icon Award at the Manila International Film Festival Closing Night Awards Gala on September 6 in Beverly Hills, California.
With two major honors coming her way, Salonga continues to cement her status as one of the Philippines’ most celebrated global entertainment icons.
