Four people have been confirmed dead following severe flooding in Chiba Prefecture, Japan, including at least one person who was reportedly trapped inside a submerged vehicle.
More than 360 millimeters of rain fell in some areas within just 24 hours, inundating roads and railways and disrupting transportation across the prefecture.
The heavy rainfall also knocked out power to nearly 25,000 households, while an estimated 7,000 travelers were stranded at Narita Airport due to disruptions in road and rail services.
In response, the Japan Self-Defense Forces deployed personnel to assist with relief operations.
Several major highways remain closed, while some rail services in Chiba are still suspended.
