More than 384,000 families across the Philippines have been affected by bad weather, according to Department of Social Welfare and Development Secretary Rex Gatchalian.
Gatchalian said a total of 384,527 families in 2,070 barangays have been affected by the weather conditions.
There are currently 624 evacuation centers open across the country, with more than 16,000 families having evacuated to the facilities.
The weather has also damaged 367 houses, including 27 that were totally damaged and 240 that sustained partial damage.
The DSWD has distributed 54,370 family food packs to affected communities as part of its humanitarian assistance.
The total value of humanitarian assistance provided so far has reached ₱39.375 million.
Despite the assistance already distributed, the agency continues to maintain supplies for possible additional needs in affected areas.
Nearly 4.98 million family food packs and 245,474 non-food items are currently on standby nationwide.
Gatchalian said the stockpile has declined from more than 5 million family food packs before the bad weather affected communities.
He said the supplies are continuously being replenished to ensure that assistance remains available for areas that may need additional support.
The DSWD continues to monitor the situation as affected families remain among those requiring assistance amid the ongoing bad weather.
The figures cover the number of affected families, barangays, evacuation centers, evacuees and damaged houses reported by the DSWD.
The agency’s available food packs and non-food items are being kept on standby for succeeding needs in affected areas.
