Man found dead wrapped in duct tape in Negros Occidental

Authorities are investigating the death of a 26-year-old man whose body was found wrapped in duct tape in Barangay Pacol, Bago City, Negros Occidental, on July 2.

The victim was identified as Raymart, a 26-year-old barker from Bacolod City.

According to Police Senior Master Sergeant Erwin Jamandre, chief investigator of the Bago City Component Police Station, residents alerted authorities after noticing a strong foul odor coming from the area.

Responding officers searched the location and discovered the victim’s body wrapped in duct tape.

Investigators are looking into the possibility that the body was dumped in Barangay Pacol after the crime had already been committed elsewhere.

Authorities have not yet determined the victim’s cause of death.

Police said the investigation remains ongoing as they gather evidence and examine all possible circumstances surrounding the case.

Meanwhile, the Bacolod City Police Station said the victim had previously been arrested for illegal gambling and had a recorded case of alarm and scandal.

Authorities did not indicate whether the victim’s previous police record is connected to the ongoing investigation.

The Bago City Component Police Station continues to conduct a full investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the victim’s death, identify possible suspects, and establish where the crime may have occurred.

Police have not released additional information as the investigation continues.
