DSWD assures psychosocial support for those affected by Tacloban school shooting

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has expressed its condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the shooting incident at a school in Tacloban City.

In a statement, the DSWD said the tragedy has brought immense grief to bereaved families, survivors, and witnesses of the incident.

The agency also voiced concern over the impact of the incident on children affected by the violence.

In coordination with local government units and other concerned agencies, DSWD social workers have already provided psychosocial support and psychological first aid to affected individuals to help them cope with the trauma caused by the incident.

The department said it stands in solidarity with the affected families and communities and remains committed to providing the care, protection, and support necessary for their recovery.

The DSWD reaffirmed its commitment to helping those affected heal and rebuild in the aftermath of the tragedy.
