A Magna cum laude graduate of Negros Oriental State University (NORSU) achieved a perfect score of 800 in the National Medical Admission Test (NMAT) on her first attempt, according to a post by the university on Friday, June 12.
Queenie Roda Futalan, a graduate of the Pharmacy Department under the College of Nursing, Pharmacy, and Allied Health Sciences (CNPAHS), obtained the highest possible score in the standardized examination required for admission to medical schools in the country.
In its post, NORSU said Futalan was also a Department of Science and Technology-Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI) scholar, a consistent dean’s lister, and an active student involved in both academic and extracurricular activities.
The university added that Futalan is now eyeing a government scholarship as she pursues her dream of entering medical school.
The NMAT is a standardized examination required for admission to medical schools in the Philippines.
Meanwhile, Futalan told Brigada News FM Kabankalan that she is now preparing to take the October 2026 Pharmacists Licensure Examination (PhLE).*
