Man found dead in Cebu with tape-bound hands, gunshot wound, and note

A man believed to have been executed was found dead at Purok Bamboo, Sitio Campo 5, Barangay Manipis, Talisay City, Cebu around 3:00 a.m. on Monday.

Police said the victim’s hands were tied with packaging tape, while his head was covered with a black jacket. A piece of paper with the handwritten note “WAG TOLARAN! DRUG ADDICT AKO YUMIL” was also found with the body.

Authorities confirmed the victim sustained a gunshot wound to the head, suggesting he was shot at close range before being dumped in the area.

As of press time, police have yet to identify the man. An investigation is ongoing to determine both his identity and the suspects responsible for the killing.

The discovery has raised alarm in the community, with residents linking the incident to so-called “salvage killings” targeting alleged drug personalities.
