Mango vendor killed as truck slams into roadside stall

A 63-year-old mango vendor was killed after a cargo truck crashed into his roadside stall in Barangay Tiguib, Ayungon, Negros Oriental, March 25.

According to an initial investigation by the Ayungon Municipal Police Station, the truck was heading north when it suddenly swerved off the road and plowed into the small makeshift stall where the victim was selling mangoes.

The impact completely destroyed the stall, leaving the victim with fatal injuries. He died on the spot.

Authorities said the truck driver immediately fled the scene after the incident. A manhunt is now underway to locate the suspect.

Police are continuing their investigation to determine the cause of the crash.
