Man killed on bus in Davao del Norte; suspects flee with bag

A fatal shooting aboard a public bus traveling from Tagum City to Davao City on Thursday has left authorities and passengers in shock.

The incident, which occurred around 1:30 p.m. in Barangay Sto. Niño, Carmen, Davao del Norte claimed the life of a man identified only as “Taytay.”

According to police, the victim was shot in the back of the head by one of two unidentified suspects who were also passengers on the Metro Shuttle bus. Witnesses reported that the suspects attacked without warning or provocation.

After the shooting, one of the assailants grabbed the victim’s bag before fleeing the scene on a motorcycle driven by another individual identified as “Doy.”

The suspects’ abrupt escape and the stolen bag have fueled speculation about the possible motive, but police are still investigating.

Authorities recovered a red backpack containing personal belongings at the scene, but its connection to the crime remains unclear. Forensic teams are processing evidence, while operatives continue hot-pursuit efforts to track down the suspects.
