The Philippines is set to make its mark on the global pickleball scene as 38 Filipino players gear up for the Pickleball World Cup in Da Nang, Vietnam.
Team Philippines will face some of the world’s best players in the tournament, which will feature competitors from 70 countries.
Philippine Pickleball Federation president Shery Cu said the national team is drawing attention as pickleball continues to gain popularity in the Philippines.
Among the country’s representatives are former Philippine Davis Cup player Ruben Gonzales, Nik Isagan, Kelsey Laurente, and Fatima Amirul.
The Filipino delegation is aiming to showcase its skills, compete against the world’s best, and secure a strong finish for the country.
The Pickleball World Cup is scheduled from August 30 to September 6 in Da Nang, Vietnam.
