Three unidentified male bodies were found buried in a rubber plantation in Sitio Goma, Barangay Nabundas, Shariff Saydona Mustapha, Maguindanao del Sur around 9:30 a.m. on Friday, May 30, 2025.
Police said the discovery came after a concerned citizen reported a foul smell in the area. Responding to the tip, police officers, barangay officials, and soldiers went to the site to investigate.
Authorities confirmed the presence of human remains and called in the Provincial Forensic Unit of Maguindanao del Sur. Around 11:30 a.m., a team began digging and recovered three male corpses. All had their hands tied and showed no signs of identification.
The identities and causes of death of the victims remain unknown. Investigators have yet to determine how long the bodies had been buried or whether they were killed at the site.
The remains were transferred to Ronex Funeral Home in Barangay Kauran, Ampatuan for autopsy and proper handling.
As of now, authorities have not released further information. The investigation is ongoing to identify the victims and uncover what led to their deaths.
