2 Malaysians arrested in Bacolod for human trafficking, love scam

Two Malaysian nationals were arrested in Barangay Singcang Airport, Bacolod City, on March 27 for their alleged involvement in human trafficking and love scam operations.

The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Bacolod confirmed that authorities had been monitoring the suspects for nearly a month after receiving reports about their illegal activities.

A search warrant was served at the suspects’ rented house, leading to the rescue of seven adult victims. Authorities revealed that some victims had been promised jobs as models, only to later discover that their photos were being sold to foreign clients.

The landlord of the house claimed to have no knowledge of the illegal activities conducted by the tenants.

Further investigations revealed that the two arrested Malaysians were also overstaying in the country, as their visas had already expired.

The suspects are now in CIDG custody, while authorities prepare charges related to human trafficking and immigration violations.
