₱3.2M drug haul seized in Davao City checkpoint

Two suspects were arrested in a joint checkpoint operation in Barangay Lacson, Calinan, Davao City, for violating the anti-drug law, Republic Act 9165.

Ronie, 37, and Jeam, 29, were apprehended after they were seen driving through a checkpoint. During a routine inspection, authorities discovered five transparent cellophane bags containing white crystalline substances, suspected to be methamphetamine, along with ₱10,000 in cash believed to be drug money.

The seized drugs have an estimated street value of ₱3.2 million.

The operation was a joint effort by authorities from the 2nd CMFC, PS10, and AFP/TF Davao.

Both suspects were arrested and are facing charges for violation of Section 5 of RA 9165. The seized items have been secured as evidence, and the case is currently under preparation for court filing.
