₱1.625 Billion Released for Earthquake and Typhoon Recovery Efforts

The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) has announced the release of a total of ₱1.625 billion to replenish the Quick Response Funds (QRF) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

The funds aim to accelerate aid and recovery operations for victims of recent weather disturbances and the magnitude 6.9 earthquake in Cebu.

According to Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman, the government is prepared, assuring that standby funds are available to deliver assistance to affected communities.

Of the total amount, ₱625 million was allocated to replenish DSWD’s Fiscal Year 2025 Quick Response Funds, while ₱1 billion was released to DPWH to restore its response fund requirements.

These funds are expected to support reconstruction and rehabilitation programs, activities, and projects—including the provision of food and essential supplies for communities hit by calamities.
