The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) has issued another yellow alert over the Visayas Grid.
According to the NGCP, the yellow alert will take effect at 3:00 p.m. today and will last until 9:00 p.m.
The corporation explained that 12 power plants have been on forced outage this month, while one plant has been offline since March.
In addition, three plants have remained unavailable since last year, two since 2024, two since 2023, and one since 2021.
Meanwhile, 10 other power plants are currently operating at derated capacities.
The NGCP noted that a yellow alert is declared whenever the operating margin is insufficient to meet the contingency requirement of the transmission grid.
