U.S. Embassy Reminds American Citizens to Follow Authorities’ Advisories After Earthquake

The U.S. Embassy has issued a natural disaster alert for American citizens in the Philippines following the magnitude 7.4 earthquake that struck Davao Oriental yesterday morning.

According to the embassy, its Customer Service Center in Davao is currently offline, but the American Citizens Services section in Manila and the Consular Agency in Cebu remain operational.

The embassy urged American nationals to follow the guidance of local authorities, stay alert and calm, and avoid items that could cause injuries such as cabinets and glass windows.

Lastly, it said they continue to monitor the situation closely in the aftermath of the earthquake.
