Senators Raffy and Erwin Tulfo clarified that they are not interested in running for president or vice president in the 2028 national elections.
In an interview with Senate media, Sen. Erwin Tulfo said neither he nor his brother Raffy plans to seek a higher position in government after their current term in the Senate.
Erwin also appealed to the public not to include their names in election surveys related to the 2028 presidential race. He said such speculation could attract bashers and trolls even if they have no intention of running for either president or vice president.
According to the senator, he and his brother are already satisfied with their current work in the Senate, where they are focused on creating laws and helping the public through legislation and public service.
Erwin added that they now prefer a quieter life following what he described as a difficult experience during the 2025 midterm elections.
He also guaranteed that the matter had already been discussed between the two brothers and that they had agreed to remain in the Senate instead of pursuing higher positions in the future.
Meanwhile, in a separate interview, Sen. Raffy Tulfo personally confirmed that despite being thankful for the trust and support being shown by some sectors, he truly has no plans to run for president in 2028.
However, Raffy said the public can expect him to seek re-election as senator in the 2028 polls.
The Tulfo brothers are among the most recognized political figures in the country and have frequently appeared in public opinion surveys related to future national elections.
