Stepfather arrested over alleged molestation of 10-year-old stepdaughter

A 38-year-old parcel delivery rider was arrested in Barangay Guadalupe, Cebu City, on Tuesday, February 18, after being accused of molesting his 10-year-old stepdaughter.

According to the complaint, the child and her grandmother reported the incident to the barangay’s Gender and Development (GAD) focal person. The child initially complained about being hit with a rice cooker wire by her stepfather for refusing to go to school.

She later revealed that she avoided school because she wanted to tell her mother about the alleged abuse, which reportedly started in October 2024 and continued until February 14, 2025.

Barangay officials immediately sought police assistance, leading to the suspect’s arrest. He is currently detained at the Guadalupe Police Station.

The suspect denied the allegations, claiming that he has loved and cared for the child since she was two years old.
