A senior citizen was arrested on March 4, 2025, after being caught with more than P10 million worth of suspected shabu in Mandaue City, Cebu. The arrest occurred during a drug buy-bust operation around 7 p.m. in Zone 7, Barangay Mantuyong.
The suspect, identified as 62-year-old “Alyas Ackoie” from Barangay Quiot Pardo, Cebu City, was found in possession of 1.5 kilograms of shabu, with an estimated street value of P10.2 million. Authorities have labeled Ackoie as a high-value individual, as he is suspected of regularly distributing 1 to 2 kilograms of shabu each week across Cebu, Mandaue, and Lapu-Lapu City.
Ackoie now faces charges under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. The authorities continue to investigate his network and operations.
