Sen. Marcos apologizes to Duterte family in Holy Week video

Sen. Imee Marcos has asked forgiveness from the Duterte family in a Holy Week video, saying she believes her actions may have caused harm to Vice President Sara Duterte.

In her video titled “Pagsisisi at Pagpapatawad Part 2,” the senator expressed regret and extended an apology to the Duterte family. She said it seemed that she was the one who brought trouble to the vice president.

Despite her apology, Marcos also expressed gratitude that Duterte currently serves as vice president. She said that having Duterte in the position allows her to help the Filipino people.

The senator’s latest statement follows the first part of her video series, where she initially asked forgiveness from her father. In that earlier message, Marcos said she regretted not being able to closely watch over her younger brother, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

She explained that she had tried to guide and look after the president but claimed that many individuals were working against him.

Marcos maintained that although she attempted to keep watch over her brother, the situation was difficult due to what she described as continuous attacks from critics.

The Holy Week messages have drawn attention as they included both personal reflections and political references involving prominent national figures.

Her remarks about Vice President Duterte and President Marcos come amid ongoing public discussions involving key political leaders.

As of now, there has been no immediate public response from the Duterte family regarding the senator’s apology.
