Security guard arrested for motorcycle theft in Gensan

Police arrested a 32-year-old security guard, identified as “Alyas Melvin,” for allegedly stealing a motorcycle in Barangay Calumpang.

The incident happened when someone reportedly took a motorcycle parked outside a bar in Purok Lower Acharon, Barangay Calumpang, and drove it toward Barangay Tambler. Witnesses immediately reported the theft to authorities, leading Police Station 10 to launch a hot pursuit operation.

During the operation, the stolen motorcycle and the suspect were located at a drinking establishment in Purok Stella Maris, Barangay Tambler. Law enforcement quickly apprehended the suspect without incident, recovering the motorcycle in the process.

The suspect is now in police custody and will face legal proceedings for violating the New Anti-Carnapping Act of 2016 (RA 10881). Authorities continue to remind the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to prevent similar incidents.
