Rep. Eric Yap Denies Allegations Linking Him to Flood Control Mess

Benguet Representative Eric Yap expressed dismay over his name being mentioned in the Senate hearing on the alleged irregularities in flood control projects.

In a statement, Yap said it was painful to be dragged into such an issue—not only for himself but also for the people he vowed to serve with integrity.

He firmly denied any involvement in corruption, stressing that he neither received nor authorized the delivery of money related to the projects in question.

As a public servant, Yap said he remains accountable to the people.

He also welcomed the opportunity to face his accuser in the proper forum, and to undergo proceedings where his rights will be respected.
