The House of Representatives’ Quad Committee is still undecided on reinviting former President Rodrigo Duterte to their war on drugs investigation.
Sta Rosa, Laguna Representative Dan Fernandez told Brigada News FM Manila that he will confer with other Quad Committee chairs as to whether or not they will still invite Duterte in the next hearings.
Fernandez said they are weighing on the suggestions that Duterte’s statements in the Senate investigation are already sufficient.
The lawmaker added that given the chance he would like to ask Duterte more questions, such as Colonel Eduardo Acierto’s revelations that the former president was protecting big time drug lords.
Fernandez however said the consensus of his colleagues will ultimately prevail.
While still undecided on Duterte’s attendance, the Quad Committee instead summoned his lawyer, Atty. Martin Delgra III to the next hearing.
Lawmakers will ask Delgra III why the former president failed to attend the hearing despite his promise to come to the house panel’s probe after November 1.”
