More than 50 families were evacuated from their homes after continuous rain caused flooding in several areas of Zamboanga City.
According to the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), 27 families were brought to the Cabatangan Barangay Hall, while 25 others took shelter in the Ayala gymnasium.
The power supply was temporarily cut off in the affected areas due to safety concerns brought by the flooding.
The City Social Welfare and Development Office has already provided assistance to the displaced residents now staying at the evacuation centers.
Authorities placed the city under blue alert as they monitor the weather and the condition of all 98 barangays.
No injuries or casualties have been reported so far.
