Over ₱802 million worth of suspected shabu seized in Bataan

Authorities seized an estimated ₱802 million worth of suspected shabu during a coastal operation in Barangay Sisiman, Mariverles, Bataan on Thursday, August 14.

Police Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio Peñones Jr., director of Police Regional Office 3, said the operation led to the recovery of six sacks containing a total of 118 packages of suspected shabu, weighing approximately 118 kilograms.

The discovery came after police received information from a concerned citizen about suspicious sacks along the shoreline.

Responding officers from the Mariveles Municipal Police Station, along with other operatives, immediately proceeded to the site to conduct a thorough inspection and documentation.

“This significant recovery is a testament to what can be achieved when the community and law enforcement work hand-in-hand,” Peñones said. He commended the citizen who reported the find and lauded the swift, coordinated response of the operating units.

The seized items were secured as evidence while authorities continue to investigate their origin and intended destination. No arrests were reported at press time.
