OCTA Survey: Majority of Filipinos Support Impeachment Trial of VP Sara Duterte

More Filipinos now believe that Vice President Sara Duterte should face an impeachment trial before the Senate.

According to the latest Tugon ng Masa survey conducted by OCTA Research, support for the impeachment trial increased from 69% in March to 74% in April.

Meanwhile, 21% of respondents opposed the trial, while 4% remained undecided.

The highest level of support for the Senate trial came from the Visayas, where 82% of respondents expressed approval.

This was followed by Metro Manila at 81%, and Balance Luzon at 77%.

Support was lowest in Mindanao, where it was recorded at 58%.

Mindanao also posted the highest opposition rate to the trial, with 41% of respondents expressing disagreement.

The Senate of the Philippines has already convened as an impeachment court, with the trial expected to begin on July 6.
