Hundreds of students in Indonesia have fallen ill after eating free meals distributed in schools.
This comes after thousands of students were previously reported sick in connection with President Prabowo Subianto’s alleged billion-dollar feeding program, which was intended to improve children’s health.
The program was launched in January, but many have called for its suspension due to concerns about food safety and sanitation.
According to the local health agency, most of the affected students experienced diarrhea and dizziness after consuming the meals.
At least 64 students received hospital treatment.
Authorities also reported that 660 students from two schools in Central Java showed symptoms of food poisoning, along with ten affected teachers.
Meanwhile, the kitchen linked to the incident has been suspended.
