Newborn baby abandoned in parked jeep, captured on CCTV

A newborn baby was abandoned inside a parked jeep in Barangay Zone 8, Talisay City, Negros Occidental on Sunday evening, June 8.

The incident was captured on CCTV, showing a man leaving the baby inside the vehicle around 7 p.m.

Barangay Captain Ian Glaraga said a resident first discovered the newborn after hearing the baby’s cries from the jeep. The baby girl was still wrapped in cloth, with her umbilical cord uncut and traces of blood visible.

The concerned resident immediately brought the baby to the barangay office. Barangay officials then rushed the infant to the City Health Office for medical care.

According to the Talisay City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), the newborn is now in good condition and receiving proper care.

Authorities are working closely with the Talisay City Police to identify and locate the parents of the abandoned baby.

Police are also reviewing the CCTV footage for leads.
