MRT-3 service hours extended to improve rush hour travel starting March 24—see the new schedule

The operating hours of the MRT-3 will be extended by an hour starting March 24, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) announced. This change is designed to improve convenience for passengers during peak hours.

New Operating Hours

The extended schedule will see more trains deployed during peak periods to reduce waiting times for commuters. The North Avenue station, in Quezon City, will now close at 10:25 p.m., while the Taft Avenue station, in Pasay City, will close at 11:04 p.m. Previously, both stations closed earlier in the evening.

Trains will continue to depart from these stations at 4:30 a.m. (North Avenue) and 5:05 a.m. (Taft Avenue).

A Step Toward Improved Service

The extension comes a week after DOTr Secretary Vince Dizon ordered the adjustment during an inspection of the Taft, Ayala, and Shaw stations on March 17. This move aims to address the growing demand for public transportation during the evening rush hours.

The 16.9-kilometer MRT-3 rail line, which serves 13 stations, runs from North Avenue in Quezon City to Taft Avenue in Pasay City.
