A motorcyclist tragically lost his life after colliding with a parked truck on CP Garcia Highway near Outland Adventure, Talomo, Davao City.
The incident was reported by Central 911 and involved a motorcycle and a truck.
Authorities identified the victim as 25-year-old Vencent Jay Martinez Asoy, a resident of Brgy. Langub, Davao City.
Asoy was traveling along the highway when he struck the rear portion of the stationary truck, driven by 60-year-old Daniel Puyos Bolonia.
Initial investigations revealed the truck was parked on the roadside with an emergency warning device in place.
However, Asoy, traveling in the middle lane, failed to notice the stationary vehicle and crashed into it. The impact caused him to lose control and fall onto the pavement.
Paramedics pronounced Asoy dead at the scene due to severe injuries.
