The Philippine National Police (PNP) continues to strengthen its internal cleansing campaign within its ranks.
Amid ongoing disciplinary mechanisms, the PNP has already imposed penalties on 1,191 police personnel from January 1 to May 6, 2026.
According to the Directorate for Investigation and Detective Management (DIDM), the penalties include dismissal from service, suspension, demotion, forfeiture of salary, restriction, reprimand, and withholding of privileges.
PNP Chief Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said the organization will continue intensifying its internal cleansing program to ensure that police officers who violate laws and regulations are dealt with according to due process. He added that disciplinary actions are implemented regardless of rank or position.
Nartatez also stressed the importance of maintaining public trust through a disciplined and professional police force.
The PNP assured the public that it will continue enforcing internal disciplinary measures fairly and in line with the organization’s commitment to a more professional, accountable, and service-oriented police force.
