President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr is not closing doors on the possibility of patching things up with Vice President Sara Duterte.
Marcos made the statement in reaction to Duterte’s remark that their rift has reached a ‘point of no return’.
Despite the mounting word war between the two officials the president is still open to a possible reconciliation with the vice president.
” Never say never” Marcos simply said.
The two top officials were running mates in the 2022 elections but their relationship start to fall apart when the House of Representatives began questioning Duterte’s use of confidential funds.
Duterte accused Marcos’ wife Liza and cousin House Speaker Martin Romualdez as behind those smear campaigns hurled against her.
The vice president’s father Former President Rodrigo Duterte even called Marcos a drug addict and incompetent president of the Philippines.
Marcos on the other hand simply said that former president’s continued use of a highly addictive pain killing drug called Fentanyl might have taken its toll on his health.
Since then, he top officials and their respective allies were engaged in series of trading of barbs in the media.
The latest is the controversial “kill order” of Duterte against Marcos which is now the subject of the hearing of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).
